  • Depends… You can not alter the chassis for the GT or Hypercar body in any way not listed.   You can not re-enforce the chassis with metal.  It is always best to contact the AMSCO before the event with anything that you feel could be outside the rules listed.  We are also holding a Pre-Tech at the event on Thursday (8am-8pm) at the tech table for these types of questions/items for drivers & their cars.  Nothing worse than getting a car the way you like only to fail tech and have to change things with no practice time available after the change.

  • There are two rear tires being used for the race. One type (size) for each class.

    GT3 - SC-4761 AS25 (19.5mm x 10.5mm)

    HY-STD - SC-4752 AS25 (19mm x 10.5mm)

  • Yes! You can purchase the specific required tires for the classes (GT & Hypercar) from our Event Sponsors.

  • Pre-tech will be open all day Thursday August 27th (8am to 8pm) to answer any questions each team may have about their cars or confirm proper approved parts.  On Friday August 28th the team cars cannot enter Final Tech/Impound until official tech tables open at 3pm.  After tech and installing the race motors the teams 2 cars are placed into impound.

  •  A team will bring their two chosen cars of each type (1 - BMW - M8 GT & 1 - Hypercar) of choice.

    • Teams will be in pre-assigned groups based on assigned racecar numbers for a staggered Tech Process.

    • Teams will present the cars with the bodies off the chassis.

    • The motors are removed along with the rear axle and no rear tires on the rear wheels from each car.

    • Pods can stay installed on the chassis.

    • Each team will then pick two motors of each type for their cars.

    • Pinions will be installed on the motors and one motor out of the two will be installed into their respectable cars.

    • Each team will have 60 minutes total to complete this process.  After the first 30 minutes once a team gets their motors installed into their two cars before or after that 30 minute mark.  That team then can go to an assigned lane to practice those two cars for the remaining minutes of the 60 total minutes for final adjustments.   Before the team enters them both into impound.

This is and will be a new process for us all for all AMSCO major endurance events moving forward.  Great care will be taken in testing all the two types of motors that will be presented to teams.  All handout motors will be marked and labeled for proper identification.

  • The classes of cars for each team will be run separately.  There will be two rations of the 18 or 24 lanes on three tracks.  Each team will do the first rotation of 18 or 24 lanes with their GT BMW M8 race car.  The second rotation through the 18 or 24 lanes will be with their Hypercar entry.

  • The GT BMW M8 will be the car class all teams will qualify with.  In a yet to be determined lane and on one of the three tracks.

  • During online registration, there will be a question on the form asking if your team is interested in participating in the concours. Teams will then be asked again upon receiving their credentials if they would like to still participate in the concours event. Participant teams will be allowed to enter one Scaleauto BMW M8 GT and one Hypercar ; The winning team of each type (BMW M8 GT & Hypercar) will each be chosen by popular vote.  Two different teams can win since there are two types of cars. An online vote will start at the same time as the in-person & be added to the totals from the in-person votes before the event ends.  Online voting closes 2 hours before the checkered flag on race day.

  • Open Practice Rotation on Thursday and Friday Morning - Each team will have one lane for the team and it will be a constant rotation of all the lanes throughout the day on Thursday Aug. 27th. It will be 6 minutes of practice on each lane and this will rotate indefinitely from 8am to 8pm.   Friday morning Aug. 28th will be the same process.

  • Anyone can participate in this event! Whether it’s your first race or 78th+ come join in and have fun slot car racing with Scaleauto!
